Project Goal
I was tasked to create a series of apparel for Answers in Genesis' new attraction in Pigeon Forge, TN and upcoming attraction in Branson, MO. The goal of this project was to create shirts that guests could purchase after experiencing the attraction as a souvenir to take home with them. Since Pigeon Forge and Branson are both touristy cities, it is likely that much of the guests attending Truth Traveler are not from the area, so this series of apparel must clearly represent the attraction and where it is located.
Additionally, for this project I was tasked to seek out specific shirt types/fabrics for ideal printing and quality.
The Jersey
For this piece, I decided to create a soccer jersey within the branding of Truth Traveler, using logos, colors, and patterns associated with the attraction.
"Chill POD"
The main robot character depicted in the VR experience is named "POD". So, with this design, I decided to illustrate a different art-style of POD to depict on the shirt.
"He Holds Time"
The idea behind this design was centered on time. Given that the concept behind the Truth Traveler VR experience is a robot traveling back in time through the 7 C's of History, a typographic design centered around God holding time seemed like a perfect tie in.
This shirt also was printed with glow-in-the-dark ink, making it extra special!
"Dizzy POD"
The concept behind this hoodie was to create a piece that looks like something you would find at any souvenir shop by incorporating tie-dye with the place the guests have visited.
"Gen-6000"
The ship in which the guests "ride" in their VR experience is called the "Gen-6000" referencing the history of the earth! With this shirt, I created an artwork depicting the ship while including what the guests did on their travels.
"Jesus Forever"
This shirt is another tie-dye piece that includes the simplified Truth Traveler logo on the front with a typographic design on the back with the intent of reinstating truth that was taught through the experience.
"Created Universe"
This long sleeve shirt also showcases the branding on the front along with the location while having a typographic design on the back reinstating what was taught during the experience.
"Bible to Life"
This shirt was an experiment with a raglan style, that incorporates one of the slogans of the attraction: "Bringing the Bible to Life".
"7 C's Circuit"
This hoodie was created to specifically reference the 7 C's of History that the VR experience focused on: Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, and Consummation. I created this in a "tech" style to match the futuristic appeal of the attraction.
"I <3 POD"
This sweatshirt is a staple souvenir, using a play on the classic "I heart NY" slogan but replacing it with Truth Traveler branding. The POD character was also turned into a series of emoticons, such as the one depicted on this piece.
