Project Goal
I was given the task to create the official tournament logo for Cedarville University's Callan Classic basketball tournament which takes place every November. The goal was to use Cedarville athletic branding colors to create an intriguing lock-up that could be used in a variety of different mediums.
Design Initiative
I used the navy, teal, and orange colors associated with Cedarville's athletics to maintain consistency with the branding of Cedarville University. Looking at the design elements, I incorporated a basketball to show a clear representation of what the tournament is for backed with a half-hexagon shape relating to design elements consistent with Cedarville's branding. I went for a bold typographic style with some flair added to give off an athletic appeal, such as the thin blue lines within the text and the banner behind "CLASSIC".
